The Coaching Process

ENVISIONING& ACHIEVING

While every coaching engagement is customized to suit the client’s needs, the process is always input lead and goals driven and consists of two phases—Phase I: Envisioning the Desired Future State & Phase II: Achieving the Desired Future State.

Phase I: Envisioning the Desired Future State

In Phase I the client gains a clear understanding of their current state and uses that understanding to craft a picture of a desired future state. In Phase I the frequency of coaching conversations are typically one every two weeks and each conversation lasts between sixty and ninety minutes. The duration of Phase I is usually three to six months.

Phase II: Achieving the Desired Future State

In Phase II client and coach get down to the real work of change. Strategies are developed and deployed. Results are analyzed and lessons are learned. The frequency of conversations are typically one every month and each conversation lasts about sixty minutes. Phase II is usually six months.
